I teach private singing lessons for adults at my studio in Lacey, Washington. Singers come to me from Olympia, Tumwater and across Thurston County, and I teach online lessons wherever you are. Adults at every level are welcome, from first-timers to experienced performers. Lessons are one hour, monthly plans start at $320, and every singer begins with a free 15-minute discovery call.
Do I need any experience to start?
No. You may arrive convinced you “can’t sing.” That is completely normal here. Some students haven’t sung since childhood. Some have been told they’re tone-deaf. We start from where you are today.
Who I teach
- Complete beginners. No background needed.
- Developing singers. You have been singing for a while and want to understand what’s working, what’s getting in the way, and what to focus on next.
- Experienced performers. You are preparing for something specific or refining your craft.
- Recovering voices. Helping singers recover and rebuild after strain, fatigue or injury is a special focus of mine.
- Choir and barbershop singers. Choir builds musicianship, and private lessons build your instrument. I wrote about that in Choir vs. Private Voice Lessons.
I work across all styles: classical and art song, musical theater, pop, rock and contemporary, barbershop and a cappella, and church music. I also teach teens 14 and up.
What a lesson is like
Lessons are one hour, and weekly is the pace I recommend. I also offer flexible options when your schedule needs a different pace. Lessons are built around your goals, your style, and your voice.
After every in-studio lesson, you get a written summary by email: what we worked on, vocal exercises for the week, and resources I picked for you.
If you want the details of a first visit, I walk through it in What Happens at Your First Voice Lesson.
In person or online
I teach mainly in person at my studio in Lacey. Online lessons are available too, wherever you live. Which one suits you depends on your goals, your setup, and how you learn best, and we work that out together on the discovery call.
What lessons cost
- Monthly plan: $320 a month for one 60-minute lesson every week ($80 a lesson).
- Lesson packages: 5 lessons for $425, 10 for $800, or 20 for $1,500, scheduled whenever you’re ready.
- Single session: $100.
A monthly plan or a lesson package also includes my Online Voice Studio and my online voice courses. All the rates are on my pricing page, and lessons are also sold as gift cards.
How to start
Every singer starts with a free 15-minute discovery call. It is a short conversation where I learn about your goals and you learn about how I teach. From there, we decide together if it’s a good fit.
